It's been a busy period for us at the Poverty Alliance. Our plans for the Scotland Demands Better march and rally on 25 October are coming together, and this week we published details of the first of a series of public meetings around the country.
On our social media channels, I shared a fantastic blog from Andrea Bradley, General Secretary of the Educational Institute of Scotland, who spoke at the launch event.
We had another guest blog this week from John Bell, a member of our Get Heard Scotland panel.
And a great first-time blog from our Senior Research Officer Lauren Wilks.
I built our monthly Scottish Anti-Poverty Newsletter, and published it on Thursday. We've moved over to using Mailchimp now, as it syncs better with our Salesforce CRM system.
On Wednesday, my team had our reading day at the Mitchell Library. It's basically a chance for us to catch up on material we haven't previously had time to read. I was going through the latest Moving Mindsets research from Frameworks UK. It was excellent, and it made me think about ways I could update our Values First framing training. I was particularly struck by the strength of the 'System is Rigged' mindset, and how that chimes with research by Frameworks in the US.
I also had time this week to properly read through a new messaging guide on tax from Tax Justice Scotland. I think it's very good and I shared it with colleagues.
