Membership is open to all organisations that share our desire to tackle poverty and is free for civil society organisations with an income of under £500,000. We also welcome individuals to become Poverty Alliance supporters.
We encourage and help our members and supporters to take an active part in the life of the organisation.
Benefits of membership

Full membership is open to civil society organisations – community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises, trade unions, faith groups, schools, academic institutions, campaigning groups. Current membership fees are:
- Income less than £500K: FREE
- Income from £500K-£750K: £120
- Income from £750K-£1M: £240
- Income over £1M: £360
Associate membership is open to all civil society organisations, political party organisations, and public sector bodies (Health Boards, Local Authorities, etc). Associate members do not have voting rights at AGMs but are involved in all other aspects of our work. Current Associate membership fees are:
- Civil society organisations: £60
- Public sector organisations: £360
Associate membership is also open to commercial organisations. Membership fees for commercial organisations are based on turnover. Current membership fees (inc. VAT) are:
- Under £50,000: £60
- £50,001-£100,000: £120
- £100,001-£250,000: £240
- £250,001-£500,000: £360
- Over £500,000: £480

Direct Debt
Where possible we are offering the opportunity to pay Membership and Supporter Fees by Direct Debt, details of how to set this up will be sent upon joining us and at the time of Membership/Supporter renewal.

Membership Renewal Process
If you are joining The Poverty Alliance on behalf of an organisation we will continue your membership on a rolling basis. We will work on the assumption that your contact details and the type of membership remain the same unless you notify us of a change.
Where applicable your Direct Debt will be taken, with advance notification being sent automatically via email, within the same calendar month in which you joined.
For those who have opted to pay renewals via invoice, fees due upon the automatic renewal will be sent to you by email annually, within the same calendar month in which you joined.
For supporters we will contact you on the anniversary of your membership, within the same calendar month, to ensure you are happy to continue your support.
For those on a Direct Debt for fees we will check in with you to ensure you remain happy to continue your support and intend to continue with payment expected via Direct Debt.
Should we not receive direct confirmation that you are happy to continue you membership within a reasonable amount of time and upon receipt of fees (either via DD or BACs) and following two reminders we will remove your details from our records.
