Our social security system is one of our most vital public services, and a basic human right that can secure the well-being of everyone in society. It is not only a safety net that should be there for all of us when we need it, but also a springboard which provides vital support for accessing suitable educational and employment opportunities, as well as other forms of participation in society.
The Social Justice & Social Security Committee is seeking views on future social security spending in Scotland, and this is our response.
