Gary Christie is currently covering the role of Policy & Campaigns Manager during Ruth Boyle’s maternity leave.
Gary Christie is an experienced policy leader and advocate with a long-standing commitment to social justice, equality, and human rights.
He previously worked as Head of Policy, Communications and Communities at the Scottish Refugee Council, leading policy, research, and public advocacy on refugee rights in Scotland, the UK and internationally. His work contributed to improvements in public understanding of refugee issues; protection, welfare and integration policy; and strengthened partnerships across government, civil society, and local communities.
He holds an MSc in Human Rights and has lived and worked in France, Denmark, and Russia. He is a trustee of the National AIDS Trust.
Outside of work, Gary enjoys travelling, wandering through art galleries, and the gentle rhythms of knitting, a glass of wine, and conversations in foreign languages.
