Beth Cloughton (she/her) is a community researcher with the Poverty Alliance. Beth is currently pausing her PhD to undertake work here. Her PhD is funded by the Economic, Social Research Council (ESRC) PhD and is in collaboration with Baltic Street Adventure Playground. Beth’s background is in Social Anthropology, and during her Masters in Global Health, she researched with a local social enterprise working with refugee and migrant populations in Glasgow. During this time, Beth worked with the Young Women’s Movement to facilitate a program called Young Women Lead, with Scottish Parliament to encourage young women’s political voices in Scotland. She started the first feminist society at her undergraduate college, and has interned at the World Health Organisation, and Gender and Mine Action Program.
Outside of work, Beth enjoys kickboxing, cooking (and most importantly, eating) and turning her flat into an urban oasis!
