Thursday Breakfast Briefing Special | In Conversation With…

8 October @ 9:15 am - 10:00 am

Sign up: Breakfast Briefing Special, In Conversation With Amanda Amaeshi | Thursday 8th October, 9:15am – 10am

Join us for our final Challenge Poverty Week Breakfast Briefing of the week taking place on ‘Tackling Child Poverty’ day. We are focusing on the need for children and young people’s voices and participation to be central in the national conversation around ending child poverty, as well as what young people need to support their advocacy and activism.

For this special ‘in-conversation’ Breakfast Briefing, we are inviting young people across Scotland to join us to hear more about how they can raise their voices against the injustice of poverty and campaign for change in their own communities.

We are delighted to be welcoming Amanda Amaeshi, an award-winning activist, campaigner, and writer specialising in gender equality, anti-racism and youth political participation. Amanda plays a leading role in shaping inclusive policy. A former member of the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls, she now works as a Legal Caseworker for Lawmanity, and serves as a Trustee of the Young Women’s and Strategic Advisor to the Roberston Trust’s ‘Advancing Racial Justice Fund’.

Amanda will be joined by Chloe Robertson, one of Scotland youngest Local Authority Councillors, who will guide the conversation.

Amanda and Chloe will share experiences and reflections on what it means to be a young person in leadership and change making. We hope that young people joining this webinar will leave inspired and more confident to make change in their own communities.
