Economic, Social and Environmental Justice: Human Rights, Poverty and the Climate and Nature Crisis

This year, our Rights in Action project is focused on the relationship between environmental, economic, social and cultural rights – looking closely at how the climate crisis and climate action impact on communities experiencing poverty.
When it comes to the climate crisis, people experiencing poverty face a triple injustice: those on the lowest incomes contribute least to the climate crisis, feel the impacts first and worst, and have less resource to respond.
This interactive workshop will explore the relationship between poverty and the climate and nature crisis, Scotland’s Just Transition, the concept of just climate resilience, and how we can tackle the human rights crisis posed by poverty and the climate crisis together to build a more equal, sustainable future.
