Diabetes UK Glasgow Wellness Walk 2023
Join Diabetes UK for their brand new Glasgow Wellness Walk on Sunday 11 June 2023
Diabetes UK is inviting you to help raise vital funds this summer by taking part in a walking challenge taking place in Glasgow for the first time.
The Glasgow Wellness Walk 2023 takes place on Sunday, 11 June and is a perfect opportunity to improve your fitness while enjoying a scenic walk and raising money for the charity along the way. The eight-mile route starts in Kelvingrove Park and takes you past sights including the People’s Palace, the Necropolis, Merchant City and along the River Clyde.
The route is step-free so it’s suitable for people using pushchairs or mobility scooters. There are plenty of toilets at the start/finish as well as the rest stop in Glasgow Green, and the charity even has a special short-cut option, reducing the walk to six miles. Celebrate your achievement at the end of your Wellness Walk with your special finishers medal and by trying out some taster activities to improve your wellbeing. These include stretch and unwind, advice on nutrition or a chat with a Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
There is a £10 registration fee for adults, children are free, and there’s no minimum sponsorship although the charity would love people to aim for £150 in sponsorship. Sign up now to take part.
Every penny you raise goes towards Diabetes UK care and support services, advice and guidance, and pioneering research. Together, let’s change the world for people with diabetes.
