Give Me Five

A £5 per child weekly top-up to Child Benefit would lift 30,000 children out of poverty.

In a just and compassionate society, it is simply not acceptable that almost one in four children is living in poverty.

Together with a range of children’s charities, anti-poverty campaigners, faith groups, academics and trade unions we are calling on the Scottish Government to use their powers to introduce the top-up.

How you can help

Sign the petition here.  Call on MSPs to ask the Scottish Government to include an increase in £5 per week for every child in Scotland in their spending plans for 2018/19 and beyond.

Email your MSP – You can help the 1 in 4 children in Scotland currently living in poverty by sending an email to your MSP urging them to help lift children out of poverty by supporting a top-up to child benefit by £5 a week for every child.
